PhD student

Edward is working to use hyper-DFT to model the behaviour of liquid crystal systems. He is interested in understanding the shape of nematic droplets and the effect of electric fields on director orientations, aiming for applications to liquid crystal display technology. Edward is from London and studied Natural Sciences (Chemistry and Physics) at Durham before continuing there with his PhD. In his spare time, he likes playing the trombone, writing articles for his college's satire page, and is on the University trampoline team.
